What I Didn’t Buy at the Bookstore

I went to my local independant bookstore today and managed to buy only one book (How to Cook Everything: 2000 Simple Recipes for Great Food) and it wasn’t even for me. I think I should be proud on several different levels. See if you can spot them.

Ok, I apologize for the “what wrong with this picture” sentence above. But I do love a good bookstore, a good book and a good sale. But after my crazy few weeks of shopping, it’s time to act like I’m broke again.

In good news, this job I currently have is actually encouraging me to read. Nothing in the formal sense, but during lunch I usually go sit outside and read for 40 minutes or so. So far in the past few weeks I’ve managed to read some fiction:

L’Interrogation by J.M.G. Le Clezio

Netherland by Joseph O’Neill

And even one non-fiction (which if you ever look at my “what am I reading right now” list, you know is a rare occurance):

The Lost City of Z by David Grann

And now I’m reading one of my dad’s recent favorites: The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo.

Reviews for some or all to follow.
